Sounds like a terrible idea from Vaughan. Means we'd never play the minnows & rebuilding teams like SL, WI & NZ ever again. Would pretty much mean the death of Test Cricket in some countries.

NS,
That would mean England playing India, SA and Aus all the time.
Where does that put Pakistan, who do have some very talented cricketers?

I love you like an older brother Sold0, and if I could invite anyone to my bar (Frankie Mac's) it would be you.
We'll have to disagree on this one though.

Vaughan calls it spot on...
Vaughan: Test match cricket needs promotion and relegation
Former England captain Michael Vaughan says Test cricket needs promotion and relegation to make it more competitive.
England overwhelmed Sri Lanka inside three days at Headingley in the first Test of the summer, with Vaughan likening the current tour to a "Premier League football team playing a Division One team continually for five weeks".
Vaughan suggests introducing a three-division system of four teams with sides in the same division playing each other home and away.
"We need to get the best teams playing each other more often. Australia against West Indies over the winter was garbage. You knew exactly what the result was going to be because it was a complete mis-match".

Because they was two relatively matched sides in conditions that were not swayed in one teams favour...

I think Headingley was too fruity. There were some balls that were impossible to play because the ball did too much.
The Trent Bridge wicket was perfect. All it did was nibble a bit, but because Australia were so used to playing on wickets where you could go hard at the ball and didn't require foot movement they were dreadful.
Also, because we were batting so soon, you could hardly blame the wicket since a true ,measure of a wicket is when both sides have batted on it.
To the point about Asian shit heaps, the series against SA in India last winter was a complete waste of time. You can't have wickets go through the top (badly) before lunch on the first day.
Not even club wickets are like that.

To be fair though Soldo, when we were getting dicked in Aus in 3 days with a few of our players struggling to cope with short pitched deliveries, you were telling them to 'Man up' because that's what 'PWOPA TEST MATCH CRICKET' is all about?
I don't get the difference?

I'm happy to discuss anything about cricket & if England play well I will say so.
Pointing out the scores from previous series is not an argument or discussion point. It's the refuge of the terminally dull & intellectually bankrupt Many of my comments on here are aimed at people like Dr Matt, stewie g & others who have a sense of humour & know the game. Not you

It's more the fact that with horse ballet he can't really slag off West Ham or England, so you don't feel his full passion. And when the pillock is passionate about something, he makes no sense whatsoever.

Yeah, mate. You spend every single post for the past 10 years cunting off England in some way, and as soon as somebody has a go back (simply by mentioning the results of the last 5 test series) you start crying your eyes out and crying foul.

We go to the sub-continent and play on their slow low pitches, so I’m never sure why people get uppity if we prepare a pitch to suit our team.
We don’t do it enough, if anything.

You didn't seem too bothered when your Baggie Greens were slapping England in 3 days during the last Ashes series in your adopted team's homeland, Sold0?
In fact, you were basking in glory.
